Twilight Shines

This annual gathering of friends and supporters includes a cocktail reception, fine dining, and an opportunity to celebrate the work of Senior Neighbors. Each year more than 300 guests gather for this celebration and, as the 10th anniversary of our first event in 2008, this is shaping up to be a very special year. We will be recognizing the impact of Twilight Shines over the past 10 years and the important role our honorees have played in our mission.

Senior Neighbors is honored to recognize Diana R. Sieger with the Twilight Shining Star Award for her service to the community. Diana is the President of Grand Rapids Community Foundation, a position she has held for nearly 30 years. She is an effective statewide and national leader in the community foundation field. She’s well-known in West Michigan for her community problem-solving, policy development and advocacy around a variety of philanthropic issues. Diana has spent her career building and strengthening our community to benefit everyone who calls West Michigan their home.

Diana’s connection to Senior Neighbors goes back to her early years working at United Way and continues to this day through the Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s Challenge Scholars program. As a part of this program, Senior Neighbors places senior volunteers in classrooms to tutor young children and empower them to reach their educational goals.
